November 27 - Jeff McCusker 18lb Snapper

Jeff McCusker was the most successful angler today with his estimated 18lb Snapper - hooked, fought, landed and released. Thanks Jeff for helping the breeders survive.

It's really cool when you catch a big Snapper but I've noticed that the same thing happens nearly every time. The Client wants the fish kept and likes the idea of having their photo taken holding their magnificent Snapper. Once the photo is taken however, the Client loses interest in the fish.

These big Snapper are very old fish, not very tasty and are the major breeders. It's not NZ Law that the fish has to be returned but we try to encourage you to do so. Catch the fish, get your photo taken and then try to return it and we'll immortalise you on this page as our way of saying "Thank You."

Get your photo here. Come fishing with us, catch the fish of your dreams, release it and we'll immortalise you (well, put your photo and fish details up here anyway)

Barbara Cummins - Large Snapper - Caught and Attempted Release 28th November 2010

Barbara Cummins attempted to release this Snapper but unfortunately it looked a bit the worse for wear when we got it back in the water, so we had to net it again and keep it. We appreciate the fact that you tried though Barbara.
