We were able to get out to the same area as yesterday and once again the fishing was brilliant.
Our very first keeper was around 45cms and this quickly became the minimum fish that we were going to accept. Although everyone was catching fish, we had three people on board today who just couldn't seem to miss:
- Nick Muse caught the first Snapper within seconds and kept up a steady stream of fish. Cathy, his wife, although she was beside him just couldn't compete. They swapped places and Nick caught fish. They swapped again and Nick hooked into a monster. He had problems controlling it and when it got caught up in the rudder, I had to take over. It took around 20 minutes to get it out, then coax it the full length of the boat, around the anchor rope and continue the fight. It's amazing the power of these fish (we were hoping it was a Kingfish and not a shark.) My arms were just about falling off by the time we saw some colour and then we saw that it was a 20lb Kingfish.
- The other two highly successful anglers were David Fang and Grace Teng. I don't think that there was a moment when one of them wasn't pulling in a great fish. They only wanted three fish so they were able to be very choosy as to what they kept and they certainly had a lot of fish to choose from. Matthew Flook, who was next to them, felt that he never had a chance as nothing got past them.
Once again the soft baits did nothing. I caught one yellow tail to use as bait but it fell off as I tried to get it into the boat. Apart from that the fish weren't interested in anything but pilchard and yellow tail.
We could have come home after two hours but it was so pleasant out there we stayed while the fish were biting. Half an hour after they stopped we headed home to process all the fish.

Previous Reports
The swell had grown to between one and two metres but it was such a gentle roll that most of the time we weren't even aware of it.
