8th December - We headed out today with the hope that the swell hadn't grown too large as it would prevent us getting to our current and very successful spot. Unfortunately it had. Terry spotted a large pod of dolphins on the way past Tapeka, so we stopped for 10 mins to watch them cavort in the waves and try to photograph them. Then we had to head into shelter amongst the islands. While we had pretty good success with lots of very hungry snapper, our biggest was only about 3lb with the rest hovering between 30-36 cm's.  The two youngest people on board outperformed everybody. Young Megan Oliveiro pulled in a couple of lovely Trevally which put up a huge fight, while her sister caught more fish than anyone else on board. Everytime she put her line down, she seemed to catch a fish within 10 seconds. She certainly kept me busy supplying her with bait.

3rd December - A Beautiful day, calm as calm.....

4th December - This was the first of two trips with Kerikeri High School......

5th December - This was the second of two trips with Kerikeri High School.....

Our Next Trip was....

10th December - The swell had dropped.......
8th December 2008 - Megan Oliveiro with her first Trevally
8th December 2008 - Megan with the two best fish of the day and they were both hers

Megan caught very few fish today but the ones she did catch beat everyone else on the boat. A fitting reward for one so keen.
