4th January -
The forecast was for 10 knot Southerly turning to 15 knot Sou-Westerly winds at the end of the day.....

5th January -
Another incredibly accurate forecast (queue the Tui's Advert) ....

6th January -
SE winds were forecast and once again they came from the NE. Despite the incorrect forecasting, it was a very nice day.

We were able to drift for a few hours and check out numerous spots but unfortunately we had very little success. The other boats nearby seemed to be experience as us. So finally we had to go back to our old spot, drop anchor and try our luck.

To start with, we were pulling in small snapper but this was a definite improvement on what had been happening earlier. Then we had a couple of good hits before landing  two good snapper (the largest one weighed in at 4.25kgs). With only four people on board, we managed to come home with four pannies (including one Terakihi) and two very nice snapper.

To top it off we came home through another pod of dolphins which really started to perform with some lovely aerobatics as we came past.

It's hard fishing at the moment but we are managing to bring fish home still.

The good news is that the sea-going Kahawai have been seen in Tutakaka so after the easterlies this week we will expecting the fishing to get a lot more exciting.
