5th December - This was the second of two trips with Kerikeri High School.....

6th December - The day started out with perfect weather, however the fish were proving elusive. We tried a couple of places but were being hammered by Mao Mao. It was time to take a huge chance. Around this time something happens each year that the schoolies love (can't give too many clues) so we went to a place that we know very well. It took a while to get there and if we were wrong, then we would have few options left. One drift established that we might be on the right track so we dropped anchor. Bingo! The big fish were here and in good numbers. Plus, we were the only boat in the area. Nothing over 7kg's but good fish and lots of them.

December 6th - Dene Wilson with some of his best ones for the day
December 6th - Dene Wilsons dad with his best snapper of the day
December 6th - Dene Wilsons sister hamming it up with her fish
December 6th - Dene Wilsons wife with her best snapper of the day
December 6th - One of the Dene Wilson party with his best fish
December 6th - One of the Wilson Party with a nice John Dory

The Wilson Family are seen here after their annual fishing trip get-together.
The competition was fierce as the men tried to restore their honour after losing to the women last year. It looked like it was going to be repeat this year until the guys started hauling in one big snapper after the other. End Result - Honour restored and the decider to be held next year. We hope to see them back, it's hard to call this work when people around you are having this much fun.

3rd December - A Beautiful day, calm as calm.....
