5th December - This was the second of two trips with Kerikeri High School and they could not have been more different. We started out on a warm humid, overcast day with the threat of rain. The kids were in good spirits and eager to get fishing. We found a patch of fish in the centre, dropped anchor and caught mostly tiddlers. We had a couple of good hits from large fish but they all got away. Dolphins were all over the place and added quite a bit of excitement - unfortunately they are almost impossible to photograph (mental note to save up for a video camera) Eventually more and more boats arrived, it started to rain really hard and the fishing died (probably because of all the noise) so we pulled anchor and left. We then went to the same place where we had done so well yesterday. There were heaps of little snapper but we managed to get a reasonable number of keepers. The best are shown below and the best of the day, just happens to have been caught by Chantelle (a cousin of Ethan who caught the biggest the day before).
If any of the kids want a copy of any of these photos then just email me and it's on it's way.
Despite a relatively quiet day we got some good fish. These were the best two - caught by Zack and Chantelle
