Biggest snapper of the day - 6lbs

This young lady was catching a few fish but was getting a bit despondent as she wanted bigger. She'd put the rod down and was going to have a rest. With a little bit of encouragement, we put another bait on and dropped it over the side. No sooner had the sinker hit the bottom when the bait got pounced on by this very vigorous 6lb beastie. Needless to say she continued fishing for the rest of the trip

17th January -
We headed out with high hopes and a reasonable forecast. However, it quickly degenerated into the trip from hell. We anchored in 60 metres of water and started pulling in some promising fish when we got a couple of lines tangled. Ten minutes later we had another huge tangle, no sooner was it sorted than we got another and another and another. There must have been an opposing current below us so we had to bail on this spot as it was impossible to stay. Our next spot was in 45 metres of water. The currents were behaving, the fish ticked along nicely and tangles were minimal. We had some very nice fish by the time we headed home.
