16th January -
A definite improvement in fish stocks. We are feeling a lot happier about going out now. We had very nice conditions with a small, gentle swell and light winds. Everyone was catching fish and we had a bit of variety with Trevally, Snapper and even a John Dory being caught. The fish being caught were consistent enough to keep the kids happy and the adults were all trying to beat Francis. For a while it looked like we might have a new leader in the fishing competition but at the end of trip weigh-in it was obvious that Janice is still safe with her 5.5kg snapper.

Josh Wakerley with his John Dory
Francis does it again with the biggest snapper - 10lbs
Martin with his biggest ever Snapper

Josh Wakerley unknowingly caught a Jock Stewart which this magnificent John Dory thought was just right for his lunch. Bad luck for the Dory but good luck for Josh. It took three attempts to get Martin out for the day. He'd been waiting patiently since the holidays began. I think this snapper was his biggest ever, so our target is to make this look really small if he comes out again......and Francis... What can I say? Once again she caught the biggest snapper. Leave some for the rest of please   ;-)
